PLAYERS: Zdeno Chara
TEAMS: Boston Bruins
The Bruins' Stanley Cup victory is starting to seem like a distant memory as the B's continue to struggle early on this season. But Zdeno Chara says the B's are trying to use the struggles as motivation and inspiration. Chara said the B's obviously don't like the position they're in right now, but he emphasized that they just need to take care of the little things in order to turn their season around. The Bruins captain said that they just need to focus on taking care of business one game at a time. To hear more from Chara, check out...

Bruins Must Prove Commitment With Their Play, As Time for Talk Is Officially Over

BOSTON -- The Bruins are still talking a good game. They just haven't been able to play one, or at least not a full one. The consistent 60-minute efforts that fueled their memorable run to the Cup this spring seem long forgotten. The Bruins are back to their frustrating habits of simply disappearing for long stretches, showing just brief flashes of their championship form. That...

Bruins' Struggles Continue to Be Rooted in Inconsistent Efforts, Failure to Convert Scoring Chances

Claude Julien and the Bruins are doing all of they can to dig themselves out of the early hole they've put themselves in, but they're running out of options. Julien continues to shuffle his lines in an attempt to jumpstart what's been a woeful offense thus far. The fact that the Bruins continue to turn in inconsistent efforts isn't helping matters either.

Tyler Seguin's Odd-Man Rush Goal Earns Captain Morgan Goal of the Week Honors

Although most of the Boston's goals from the previous week happened in a 6-2 win over Toronto, it was one of Boston's tallies against the Sharks that earned Captain Morgan Goal of the Week honors. Second-year forward Tyler Seguin fielded a pass from linemate Milan Lucic and lifted the goal past Sharks netminder Antti Niemi from the right side. Seguin received 50.2 percent...

Slumping B’s Drop Second Straight To Hated Habs

Would the 2011-2012 Boston Bruins suffer from a cup-induced hangover? That was the question heading into the season, and the answer is an emphatic yes. The Bruins have dropped seven of their first 10 games this year, and currently sit in dead last in the Northeastern Division after losing to Montreal for the second time in three days last night. Boston found themselves in a hole...

Boston Boo-ins

Many were wondering where the Bruins were in their loss to the Habs on Saturday. Well look at what we found out: That wasn't even the Bruins on the ice! The REAL Bruins were at a Halloween party! After the jump, it's party time. P-A-R-T-why? Cause I gotta! Here comes the boss, all newly shorn as Cyrus the Virus Chiarelli! Jordan Caron finally shoes up for something: Seguin...

Bruins study mistakes on video

Instead of practicing today, the Bruins had a video session to identify their many shortcomings. (No truth to the rumor the session lasted longer than the Lord of the Rings trilogy.) “A lot of times players don’t think they’re as...

What Do the Bruins Need to Do to Get on the Winning Track?

This just in: Your defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins are struggling. Only the Columbus Blue Jackets have fewer points (three) than the Black and Gold, who after Thursday night's 2-1 loss to the Canadiens, own just six points through nine games. By comparison, through their first nine games last year the B's had seven wins. Also, it's their lowest wins total...

Boston Bruins celebrate Halloween at Children's Hospital

There aren't many outside of Boston that like the New England sports teams. I'm one of them. But you have to give a handful of Bruins a hand as they spent part of their Tuesday visiting Children's Hospital of Boston bringing Halloween cheer to the sick children. Zdeno Chara, Jordan Caron, Brad Marchand and Adam McQuaid dressed up and put smiles on kids' faces...

Updates from Bruins at Canadiens

0:00 1st period: 0-0 Benoit Pouliot out. Jordan Caron in. Steven Kampfer healthy scratch. @GlobeFluto...

UCLA picked to win first Pac-12 title (AP)

UCLA was picked on Friday to win the newly realigned Pac-12's basketball title, something the Bruins haven't done since 2008 when they made the last of three consecutive trips to the Final Four. The Bruins received 421 points and 14 first-place votes in polling by media who cover the reconfigured conference.
