The crew at Keen Ramps recently linked up with Rollin' From The Heart Foundation at Monarch school—one of the first schools Rollin' From the Heart ever worked with during their humble beginnings—in Southern California to hook the kids up with a new pop-up skatepark. But the fun hardly stopped there.

As part of the overall experience, everyone was able to get involved and lend a hand in the process. The kids were stoked to grab some tools and get after it and I have to assume most of them learned a thing or two about ramp building along the way! Empowerment, education and ripping! Love it. Check it out:

Rollin' From the Heart is easily one of my favorite foundations. Many skaters (especially if you live in Southern California) are familiar with Poods Park in Encinitas, California, but not every single one of them knows that Poods was actually the nickname of Ian "Poods" Barry, a ripping local skater (and dear friend to many) who sadly passed away over 10 years ago. His folks started Rollin' From The Heart with some of Ian's closest friends (what up Josh!) and they've done incredible work over the past decade for not just skateboarders, but the local community as a whole.

On their website, RFTH sums up their overall goal as:

"Providing disadvantaged and at-risk youth the opportunity to participate in skateboarding, surfing and camping in an effort to promote a more active lifestyle and encourage positive choices."

I knew Ian personally and like every single human who ever crossed paths with him, loved and respected him dearly. He inspired us all in so many ways (on and off the board) and I absolutely love that his stoke and energy is still being felt on a daily basis through the work the foundation does and beyond!

Community collaborations like this will truly never get old. It's an experience that I have to assume many of these kids won't forget anytime soon, and at the end of the day, they have all these new obstacles to get rad on during their after-school programs! Such a win-win moment.
