Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta said he would not have a problem of being friend with Real Madrid defender Pepe during a publicity event, which took place a few hours before traveling to Panama, where the Spanish team will play a friendly on Wednesday. Iniesta hinted he holds no grudge against Pepe despite what happened in the last “Clasico.” “Friend of him? Why not? There was a moment when I said what I thought of him and that’s it,” said the Spanish international. Iniesta also talked about the controversial match between Levante and Real Madrid. “I didn’t see the play in which Cristiano was injured. I Was at home with my daughter, but if he didn’t keep playing, then it was a very strong action.” Asked about the match against Mallorca, which he did not start or play a single minute, Iniesta recognized that there is not a “normal” situation to be sitting on the bench. “You never know the fate or misfortune of being on a bench at a given time, but is certainly not a normal situation,” said the Manchego player. Iniesta also commented on the controversial discussions between Lionel Messi and David Villa on the field. “The relationship is good, those events are things that are normal to happen in normal circumstances during matches, there is nothing else,” he clarified. Iniesta also took the opportunity to praise teammate Messi, whom he described as “the number one.” In his opinion, he should win the Golden Ball. “He is unique and decisive and that’s why he breaks all records . What makes people happy is that he has a long way ahead at Barcelona,” he said. For more sports news, visit Terra.com. Photo via Facebook/Andres Iniesta
