I don’t understand a lick of Portuguese, but that doesn’t mean one cannot appreciate the beauty of 60,000 fans singing their country’s National Anthem in unison. Amid strife over corruption due to the out-of-control spending for the next year’s World Cup event that the country is scheduled to host, fans of Brazil’s soccer team showed a sign of solidarity and love for their country as they sang as one, showing great unity. It should give you chills: Awesome. With the World Cup in 2014 and the Summer Olympic Games in 2016, billions of dollars are being spent, as the country continues to have millions in poverty, along with a poor education system and community infrasctructure. Protests have began, with the most recent coming after a hike in bus riding rates. While soccer is the country’s favorite sport, there are many citizens that are against the World Cup because of the negative impact it has having on much of the economy and social structure of the country. That’s why something like the video above is amazing to see. While they love their soccer, they love their country more. H/T Business Insider
