Lars Hirschfeld denied American defender Clarence Goodson in stoppage time off a point-blank header, as Canada tied their souther neighbors the United States, 0-0, on Sunday night in an international friendly at BMO Field.
Both squads had good chances, with Canada's coming before Goodson denied game winner. Canadian Simeon Jackson wasted a perfect cross from Major League Soccer standout Dwayne De Rosario when missed an open chance from six yards wide from the United States' goal post.
Both CONCACAF squads will try to build on the match Saturday, when the United States starts 2014 World Cup qualifying against Antigua and Barbuda, while Canada faces Cuba.
