Last night wasn’t the greatest of nights for the U.S. men’s national team as they were severely outmatched in a 4-1 friendly loss to Brazil at FedEx Field.  For the fans in attendance there were really only two noteworthy highlights from the disappointing evening—Herculez Gomez’s goal in the 45th minute to cut Brazil’s lead in half, and the cops patrolling FedEx Field totally destroying a fan who ran onto the pitch.

The fully clothed streaker made his way onto the field following Brazil’s fourth goal and celebrated with a healthy mixture of elan and showmanship not seen since Neil Patrick Harris hosted The Tony Awards.  Well, that is until he got totally leveled by police with a hit that could be labeled a decleater had our friend been wearing cleats instead of off-white runners.  I doubt very much our pitch invader felt the full effect of the cop’s hit though, thanks to a combination of elation and alcohol.

Still, despite the fact that our Brazil loving fan got blowed up real good, you gotta love his showmanship.

Watch and learn why running onto the field of play is never a good idea…

Two red cards should have been issued on that play—one for that cop’s blindsided tackle, and one for buddy’s tight blue short shorts.  Showmanship or not, I didn’t need to know just how happy he was about Brazil’s win.
