After Olympiacos and Dinamo Zagreb, now Hajduk Split are the latest club linked with Fiorentina forward Josip Brekalo.

The Croatia international is widely expected to leave during the January transfer window and has several options open to him.

He was of interest to Salernitana and Bologna, but it seems increasingly likely that he will go abroad.

Dinamo Zagreb had seemingly reached an agreement only to change their minds, though it would’ve been a return to his first club.

Then Olympiacos FC stepped in with a proposal to sign Brekalo on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Now Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains that Hajduk Split have also made a proposal for the 25-year-old.

Brekalo joined Fiorentina from VfB Wolfsburg in January 2023 for €1.7m after he already had a loan experience in Serie A for Torino.

So far this season, he has scored one goal in 18 competitive appearances for the Viola.
