Juventus defender Mattia De Sciglio has suffered an overload of soleus muscle so he must postpone his season debut.
The Italian defender has been recovering from a knee injury he suffered at the end of last season. He had partially returned to group training last week, but he suffered a slight muscle injury on Wednesday so he must wait for his season debut.
Football Italia understands the 31-year-old has suffered an overload of soleus muscle during a training session at Continassa on Wednesday.
De Sciglio hasn’t yet played a competitive match this season.
The versatile full-back joined Juventus from Milan in a €12m deal in 2017 and has played 116 games with the Old Lady scoring two goals.
A product of Milan academy, De Sciglio’s contract at the Allianz Stadium runs out in June 2025.
Juventus players will train again at Continassa on Thursday morning, preparing for a Serie A game against Frosinone on Sunday.
It will be a must-win for the Bianconeri who only earned two points in the last four matches.
