It’s rather obvious that Louis van Gaal is frustrated that Ed Woodward hasn’t helped him acquire more players this summer transfer window. After we saw two new buys in Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, we all expected more buys, but it just hasn’t happened. There is still no progress to report on Arturo Vidal. United has some holes to fill in the back line, but in the midfield as well. Van Gaal made it explicitly clear that he’s looking to buy some defenders with the comments he made. So it’s time to talk Man United transfer rumors. -The Daily Express features claims that United are eyeing deals which would see Shinji Kagawa sent to Borussia Dortmund in exchange for Mats Hummels and Nani sent to Arsenal in exchange for Thomas Vermaelen. We’ve been hearing about Vermaelen all summer. It was thought a deal would be done right after his World Cup was completed, but obviously that never materialized. When will it happen? That’s anyone’s guess. (h/t Here is the City) -We heard earlier in the week that Kagawa and Nani are most likely out the door, and with them Marouane Fellaini. And if that’s the case, and it looks likely that it is, why did the club include Shinji in their promos for the new kit rollout then? Doesn’t really make sense. -Speaking of poster boys, Chicharito was used on the MUFC promos for their United States cash cow/marketing initative/summer tour. His inclusion shot down Man United transfer rumors involving Hernandez. From ESPN UK,  Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has admitted he could move for Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez, saying “anything is possible”. The Mexico striker is a target for the La Liga champions, who have lost their first-choice strike duo of Diego Costa and David Villa this season. Hernandez, also linked with Inter Milan, was wanted by six European clubs in January, according his agent Eduardo Hernandez.
