You read the headline, and the picture above tells you all you need to know. Fans of the Colombian soccer team Cucuta Deportivo brought in a coffin to General Santander Stadium for a match Sunday between Deportivo and Envigado. The story, which comes to us from Colombia Reports via Dirty Tackle, says 17-year-old hardcore fan Cristofer Alexander Jacome was murdered while playing soccer in his local neighborhood. Jacome was part of the fan group Barra del Indio that’s supposedly known for its crazy antics at soccer matches. After seeing what they did, I don’t dispute the dedication and insanity of this group.

Security obviously failed miserably by letting the coffin through the gates, but then again would you want to be the one telling a group who just raided a morgue for a body that they can’t enter the stadium? Neither would I.

Honestly, we have lots of stories that fall under the umbrella of “crazy fans” but this has to be the absolute best. Check the others to compare, and here are a few more pics of the coffin in the stadium for your enjoyment:

There is no breed of fan more crazy than the Colombian soccer fan. Ay dios mio.

  • Why would you even wanto to compare the U.S. to columbia? This is just impossible to believe that things that are done in other countries have to be judged. The u.s. isn't all that great anymore. Go back in time to the 80's early 90's and I will believe you then....
  • I believe the Author was complementing the fans by saying they were better than us, "the absolute best".
You need to take a chill pill and relax a bit. It's soccer rolexcomm, you don't need to make it out to be anything more.
    BTW your team sucks..
  • The only reason security didn't remove the coffin from the stands is that it would have resulted in a riot, undoubtedly killing more fans. Something that a number of countries are better at than the U.S. too. I have passion for sports but I really don't want to to be next to some stiff while my team is kicking your teams ass. But that's just me.
  • Helllooo...Your friend can't really see the game. The lid is on the coffin and, well, he's dead.

Another great revelation...It's only soccer. It's not really a game. It's a few morons running around while the crowd fights.
  • Kinda like US football. Weird how futbol is a great game everywhere else in the world except in this country full or ignorant people like yourslef.
  • It's not a great game everywhere else. It's just every where else is so poor that the only game they can all get in on is one that involves a field and a trashcan. I don't think they are gonna import hockey rinks in a country without literacy. ya know?
  • Really? Poor? What about countries like England, Spain, Germany, Holland, who not only are not poor, but very powerful countries and their soccer is probably the most beautiful soccer played in the world?
  • Maybe so. They also have other sports they are good at too.
  • The American equal to Soccer (aka Futbol) is the Basketball. Both cause crinks in your neck as you constantly turn your head back and forth while watching the match. As if that is not enough the match then ends in a score that was equalled only by Major League Baseball without steroids.
  • These negative replies are just from people who have no consideration for other people. It is as if only what they want or like matters----Soccer matters to a lot of people, poor, rich, educated or not, soccer required skill, endurance and technique.
  • Yes it does. Soccer is fine. It's just not the only thing out there is all I was saying. And if you don't like it it's ok too. Doesn't mean that you have better taste or not.
  • We do love the basketball. lol
  • I think it's funny how ya'll refuse to call it soccer. It's like ping pong players who are offended when you call it anything but table tennis. "Futbol" Gay.
  • And to the author of the story. I doubt that the recently deceased fan was actually in the coffin. I believe they were using the coffin as a symbol of their fallen Cucuta Deportivo fan who will remain a fan even after death. Duhh, "Winning"
  • Yeah, go back to the 80's Colombia when there were more murders than births, inflation was about a billion percent, and they still sucked at sports.
  • To jimreaper:
No kidding. The National Pastime in Colombia during the 80's was killing people.
I agree with your great revelation too. In it's entirety. Especially "It's a few morons running around (kicking a ball)while the crowd fights."
  • Mexico is now being compared to Colombia back in the 80's, in terms of beheadings, castrations, and other violent crimes.
But by gollie they love their soccer.
  • whta the F#$%! does mexico have to do with it!?
  • Just another crappy latin country...
  • Ok mannymo I will try to explain it to you. Please pay close attention. Go to the 1st comment on this blog. It is by rolexcomm. In his opening rant rolexcomm asks "Why would you even wanto to compare the U.S. to columbia?" and then goes on to say "The u.s. isn't all that great anymore. Go back in time to the 80's early 90's and I will believe you then...."
Are you with me so far?

(A)The article is about a particular group of soccer fans ("crazy fans") from Colombia who are about as dedicated as any fan could be. With me so far?
    (B) rolexcomm goes on to say the U.S. sucks and we should go back in time to the 80's or 90's. Yes?
    (C) Well if we took rolexcomm's advice and went back to the 80's we would find Colombia in chaos, beheadings, castrations, forced abortions, and other violent atrocities going on all around you. Keeping up?
(D)Now, with that in mind and knowing that we cannot "go back in time" we find ourselves in 2011 with nearly the same atrocities happening in Mexico as what occured in Colombia in the 80's. Following me?
    (E) Colombia beheadings went on, Mexico beheadings going on, Colombia "crazy fans" of soccer, Mexico "crazy fans" of soccer, Colombia atrocities in the 80's, Mexico atrocities NOW. (American, English, Spanish,French, have "crazy fans" too. NO Beheadings.)

That's whta the F#$%! mexico has to do with it.
  • I am curious though. If there is life after death and this particular fan was really hardcore. Don't ya think the coffin is useless?
I mean I would be watching the game as if I were a "Spidercam" Aerial Camera! Ya think?
  • Dead man cheering
  • Did anyone actually see the body? I can get a coffin without a body very easily.
  • Speaking of the 80's, is this the Colombian version of "Weekend at Bernies?"
  • It's kickball who cares .
  • It's funny how all of you are here talking nonsense about soccer when in all reality soccer is AN INTERNATIONAL SPORT!!! Just because Americans aren't as good as the rest of the world in soccer it doesn't mean that it's kickball. Baseball and football are American sports and when you sit back and analyze you have a bunch of idiots wearing body gear hitting each other for a ball or you have to stand around and wait in order to hit a ball with a stick...yea that's real sports.

And as for the comments about the beheadings and killings in the 80's...what does that have to do with anything? These comments definitely show how stupid most Americans are!
  • Ole !!!!!
  • Are you in America?
  • America is a big continent, has a northern, central and southern part to it !!! and for the most part, you can't swim out of a jungle. you are a very ignorant person and you are full of hate!! you really need to venture outside your cage (the US) for awhile and visit the world to better educate yourself, you really should try to get to know something before blasting it !!!! IGNORANCE IS WHAT HOLDS US ALL BACK !!!!
  • I've been all over the world. I've been in the military, booarding school in europe and I'm in grad school. I know a little something, hoss.
  • I agree with mzbibi...wholeheartedly. The people that usually insult the game of soccer are the ones who have never played a real sport. It takes alot of talent to actually play the game and be good at it. Anyone would know that whos actually played the game....so stop being a bunch of ignorant fools.
  • OK MzBibi. It has to do rolexcomm wanting to go back in time to the 80's. With the main topics in this conversation being soccer and Colombia. Look back at the 80's in Colombia yourself, and you may begin to understand the connection.
Unfortunately I agree with what you say about how stupid most Americans are. It is absurd how 'Americans" think everything we do, have done, or will do, is the end all, be all, best of the world.
Take it all in context. Some dikhed wants to go back to the 80's in America. Since were traveling in la la land we might as well visit the country at the top of the article, Colombia.
So the comments about beheadings and killings in the 80's, although a stretch for some, actually indicate someone may not be as stupid as you think, and they may have actually seen some of these things first hand.
  • You're right. You should convince all of your spanish speaking friends how dumb America is and swim your asses back to whatever jungle you crawled out of.

    Love,

    Uncle Sam
  • you really are that stupid, arent you?
  • Must be since "FREE" suggests so.
  • If they swim back then what should we do with you?? Line you up and kill you the way your ancestors did the Indians in order to rule a land that DID NOT BELONG TO YOU?

    Love,
    Native Indian
  • Seems to very much belong to us. In any new frontier the wild animals are always taken care of.
  • Indian like dot or feather?
  • "native indians" migrated here via landbridge long ago so u ain't "native"
  • And a native indian would be from Asia Minor....would they not?
  • omg, i should have read all your comments before i post... you really are that stupid
  • Not to mention, now ya'll have casinos. If it wasn't for the hand outs you'd be in a bad spot. Or maybe you'd still be wondering around in the woods.
  • well Karsten07! its people like u who make the world a miserable place to live...by the sounds of it your a prejudice lil Hillbilly from the hills. Hows much do you like being called names... childish people out there, Native Americans are a people just like you, while your laying out trying to get tanned think about it,,,gee someone likes the brown skin lol, and we work just like everybody else we don't live in tp's or trailor parks like the hillbillys do. Use the brain god gave you and think before you speak. we as tax payers are probably paying for your children or grandchildren or heck maybe even for you to live. you simply pathetic. along with MzBibi what the heck kind of name is that are we just hiding behind it, check out your background you will be suprised what race u are.. haha as i sit here laughing at ur stupidity your probably being all crabby about my words.
  • You seem to be very hostile I suggest you calm down before you catch a stroke. The land obviously doesn't belong to you because YOU are now a minority MORON!
You are a perfect example of how dumb you make your people out to be :)
  • Not now. 50 years is the projected time. Of course it does. That's why you have to register with the U.S. government. Not the government of the wild wolf. Goofy indian.
  • You truly are a joke jajajaja. Please keep amusing me with your idiocy..uneducated jacka$$
  • Uneducated? I'm in law school. Not educated enough for you?
  • No amount of education will ever erase the truly astounding level of ignorance and bigotry you're displaying here, buddy.
Your false sense of superiority is pathetic.
You must be a sad, sad little creature.
  • I've said nothing of superiority. It's funny how you all assume that. I detect a little envy you aren't one of the people you hate so much maybe? I dunno. But I surely haven't said any race is better than another.
  • You "detect a little envy"?

I detect a high school reject.

  • You are so f-ing racist Karsten...The 'crappy latin country' as you mentioned has a lot more of history and richness than you think. Stop being such an ignorant and think before you speak. The U.S. and most European nations are exploding all of latin american natural resources for dirt cheap, not caring about the natives who've lived in those lands generation by generation. Just like native americans who are now living in reservations...so unfair! Again, 'rarities'(very normal to many) such us bringing in a die hard fan to a game on his coffin is no news...it just happens, you see it, comment on it and carry on with your life. Don't be such a snob and don't post such smart remarks full of ignorance. Peace.
  • Yes your comments are indeed ignorant. Right, I do have my opinions and they are based on true facts. You are right, I can illustrate my own opinions and have the freedom to do so, but they are very respectful. Not like you, full hatred and insult. You wouldn't like it if someone would speak of your background the way you have here. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Is not late for you have some.
  • Yes they are ignorant comments, or rather very disrespectful ones. I am thankful for the ability to have my own opinions - based on true facts and respect. I don't know who you think I am - FYI very American like you. Just with a lot more insight about other countries which I have had the privilege to visit. As for medicine and education - medicine with the help of natural resources mostly found in South America. Education - believe it or not, it all began in the Arab nations. No, latin America does not suck, but you. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Not too late for you to have some.
  • Thank you UrsEscot....while most South American countries and European countries might not be wealthy the level of education compared to that of the US is unquestionably BETTER. That is a FACT.
Funny thing about this whole discussion is people are acting as though the fans are here in the US bringing the coffin to the stadium...THEY ARE IN COLOMBIA DOING IT SO I QUESTION WHAT BUSINESS IS IT OF ANYONES IN THE US WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO IN THEIR COUNTRIES?
He shows his racism and doesn't stop hence his last comment "if it didn't they wouldn't cram into trunks to make it here". Not all illegals come in undocumented you as a so called "lawyer" should know there are documents called VISAS which are legal!!!
  • Yes I'm familiar with Visas. But the majority stay past their visas. Which is illegal. In addition, they house and bring more over. I know this because I worked on a litigation team catching illegals putting an unfair liability on our client who did not know they were illegal. It was a great job. 75% of American's want the border sealed off. But we all must be uneducated toothless hillbillies, huh?
  • I have visited many other countries. I am talking about modern medicine and education. Our constitution is replicated in every advanced democracy. I'm not talking about events from thousands of years ago. Who care that you've traveled.
  • i don't think there is anyone in the world who would pass on going to a country that over taxes their natural born citizens only to give it freely to whomever asks for it even if they are not legally suppossed to be there, then wonders why they are in a deficit and why they can't take care of their own!!! LOOKS TO ME LIKE LATIN AMERICA DOESN'T SUCK THEY ARE JUST SMART, WHY FEED LOSERS WHEN THE U.S.A. IS GIVING THEM ROOM AND BOARD FOR FREE PLUS FOOD !!! THAT WAY THEY WON'T HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF LAZY BUMS WHO DON'T WANT TO WORK FOR A LIVING !!!

LOOKS TO ME LIKE SMART WOULDN'T BE THE WORD TO CHOOSE TO TALK ABOUT OUR "U.S." GOVERNMENT.
  • THEY'RE NOT EVEN IN NORTH AMERICA CAN YOU PEOPLE READ?!?!?!?!?! SERIOUSLY GO BACK TO SCHOOL!
  • No kidding. Karsten is f-ing racist.
  • well your so full of words but nothing of importance...By keeping your mough shut would make the world a better place to be. Wild Wolf Goofy Indian, urgh you as pathetic as i thought you were in your first comment. Grow up and dear god don't let the children of the terrible person be like him.
  • I'm not terrible. I'm honest. You people clearly don't know the impact the immigration is having on every level of this country. And God deserves a big G, careforme. (What an odd name for a blog. Use the same for match.com?)
  • what is the jajajaja?
  • hahahaha. The spanish translation is jajajajaja. I'm white and I know that one!
  • Sure you are and I am a neurosurgeon!
  • LOL. what's funny is I really am. @UrsEscot...I was commenting on the same level as everyone else. If you notice I didn't get into the crappy country remarks until the anti-american jargon was started. It's always alright for anyone but an american to comment. That's unfair considering if it wasn't for America....you'd probably not be on a computer.
  • Not, it is not because of America (U.S. you mean?) that I'm on a computer. I thank China and Japan (they deserve more credit, seriously) Don't get on the same level as everyone else - not worth it. China and Japan - all my respects.
  • And if you might be wondering why I stated he is uneducated....do you really need more proof? lol I hope he's no one's lawyer here or you are screwed!!!
  • doubt that very much!
  • Mizbibi, standing around waiting to hit a ball with a stick? Ever heard of a game called CRICKET?
at least we NEVER went to WAR over a baseball game! OR started a riot in the stands. And nobody ever made hearing impossible by blowing on stupid plastic horns!
  • Well bydand Latinos aren't the only ones who riot or blow horns at games...Europeans do as well and plenty of Americans have gotten into fights in baseball and football stadiums so please spare me your bs you are no better than anybody oh and let's not forget hockey where you get your teeth knocked out and you "brawl" for what????? I don't know what country has been to WAR over a game so YOU must be on the same planet as Karsten
  • u guys are unbelievable. You really do show why people around the world hate us....
  • I just wanted to say not all Americans are hatefull ignorate biggots. Americans prefer sports that are more geared to fast short plays where the action tends to be vary powerfull but short lived other countries use a lot more stamina, that dosn't mean either type is any less of a sport then the other. As far as who was where first all of our acestoral line will evetualy trace back to the Africa/Middle east reagion. technicaly were all somwhat related so let's get over the entire "race" BS.
  • Earth to mzbibi, You never heard of the soccer war? I assume you CAN FIND wikipedia on your computer? It was a four day war fought between El Salvador and Honduras in 1969. Try looking it up before you make accusations,
Hockey? we got that from CANADA. AND at least hockey players have plenty of protection. there is one hell of a difference between a few europeans blowing horns and an ENTIRE Stadium blowing on Vuvuzuelas.
  • The Football (or soccer) War wasn't really fought over a game it was mainly a dispute over imagration.
  • Horn blowing was common in Roman times, loaves of bread were thrown into the crowd of cheering fans in between "events", Gladiators were celebrities, and rival tribes actually faught each other in the stands.
Vuvuzela blowing is common in "modern" times, T-shirts and hats are thrown into the crowd of cheering fans in between "periods" and "quarters", Athletes are celebrities, and rival clubs actually fight with each other in the stands.
  • I think it's funny you all assume I'm some uneducated hill billy. I went to a boarding school in Europe growing up and have a double degree in Poli Sci and International Relations. I know your arguments and they simply fail to recognize the truth. You can talk about history and the richness of their heritage or whatever you'd like to call it. Bottom line is they didn't exploit Europe because they were warring tribes. Now they have some technology and are still warring tribes. The Mexcian border saw the same amount of combat related deaths last year that the Iraq has produced in total. Make whatever excuse you may, but they are the way they are because it's their nature. If the indians could have stopped it they would have. Its nature. The smartest and strongest survive. 1/4 of the national budget goes to imprison, feed, hospitalize and educate these people and I have to pay a fortune for grad school while they go for free. It's racism against the people that created the world we live in. So calm down. We all know the truth. Throw whatever ism at me you'd like. Reality sucks. Sorry.
  • You wouldn't have to pay a fortune to go to school if you had a full scholarship. (You are not so smart as you've said you are). The reality is that the natives didn't know what war was like until England and the rest of Europe occupied their territory. They welcomed them and let them in (without any visas). Now, thanks to Europe, Latin America knows of Catholicism, rats, cholera, hepatitis, horses, guns, among other things....So yes, you are right when you said they were warring tribes, no provoked by the Natives however....
  • WOW! even more horn blowing.
  • Waste of time with people that obviously are taking this conversation to another level.... @ whiteman US helps Colombia how???? THIS IS HAPPENING IN COLOMBIA NOT THE US SO WHAT RELEVANCE DOES YOUR COMMENT HAVE??? THE US DOESN'T PROVIDE HEALTH BENEFITS OR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ANY SOUTH AMERICAN COUNTRY...THE SAME FOR KARSTEN!! YOU 2 ARE 2 PEAS IN A POD DUMB AND DUMBER!!!!!!!!!! MAYBE THE US SHOULD LEARN HOW TO MIND THEIR BUSINESS AND FIX THE PROBLEMS IN THE STATES BEFORE THEY GO BUTTING INTO INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS...IF WHAT YOU FEEL IS RIGHT DON'T YOU THINK THATS WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE?!?!?!?! AND KARSTEN I'M SURE YOUR CLIENTS "DIDN'T KNOW" THEY HAD ILLEGALS WORKING...THEY ONLY SEEKED YOUR SERVICES AFTER THEY WERE HIT WITH HEFTY FINES IM SURE!!!
  • While this has all been fun...I have to leave the discussion now. So enjoy this glorious day before the illegals steal your sunshine away!! :)
  • See ya MzBibi, it's been interesting. Have a great day.
  • Are the football fans hating the others due to the NFL problems? Just wondering...besides that: Good Grief, LIGHTEN UP, both are GAMES!!! GAMES!!!
  • What a great way to honor the 17 year old boy, Cristofer Alexander Jacome, it bet he would have loved that, and that's the only thing that matters!
  • It was fun arguing with all of you. However, I must leave school and read a million cases. So, insult away. I'm sure you are all much smarter and clearly much more traveled than I am. lol. So lame. I'm glad I don't have to deal with people like the majority of you on a daily basis. Unless of course I need some day labor. Har har. Chew on that for awhile. I'll check to see your insults, I mean responses tomorrow. I think it would be funny to see the identity of those that said something negative about what I wrote. Especially the guy who is "American like me" who has just traveled to the point that respect and insight are such a large part of his internet blogging. lol.....audios, tschuess, ciao, good-bye.
  • Some how a story of men celebrating there friends life by taking him to one last party has been reduced to petty mud slinging.

Minor league team holding Seinfeld night with Keith Hernandez bobblehead

One of the greatest collisions of baseball and pop culture occurred when Keith Hernandez appeared on Seinfeld in 1992. The former Mets first baseman was a guest-star on a one-hour episode titled “The Boyfriend,” in which Jerry meets Hernandez and the two strike up a friendship (fueled by Seinfeld’s man-crush). To commemorate the 25th anniversary of Seinfeld‘s TV debut, the...

At 33 years old, Eli Manning is no young quarterback.
