Everton and Tottenham Hotspurs will play their 150th league this afternoon at the Goodison Park.
The last time the two sides met was in January at White Hart Lane which ended in favour of Harry Redknapp’s side 2-0 in front of 36,132 fans. Goals came from Aaron Lennon and Cameroonian international Assou-Ekotto on the 34th and 62nd minutes respectively. The above picture shows Redknapp and Moyes sharing a laugh before the match in January.
Unfortunately, Tottenham will be playing without Lennon and Michael Dawson, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season. However, Scott Parker is back from suspension while Gareth Bale and Dutchman Rafael van der Vaart are back from their injuries.
Everton will have nearly their full squad as Nikica Jelavic, Seamus Coleman and Leon Osman will possibly make the team.
Will Tottenham be able to repeat February 2007 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park and end their unbeaten run in six games? With the current form Tottenham finds themselves in (now at position 3 with 53 points), it is not beyond them to bring silence at Goodison Park.
Tottenham goes into this game with a 1-3 defeat (the second in a row) to second placed Manchester United at White Hart Lane and will hope to put smiles back to the faces of their fans. But that will not be very to achieve Everton have proved difficult to beat on home turf, especially against top opponents. Everton on the other hand, managed to get a point from their 1-1 drawn game against Queens Park Rangers.
Tottenham has scored almost twice the number of goals scored by Everton in the last 12 matches played in the league, possibly a hint that the match could end 2-1 in favour of Tottenham?
