Imagine if Coach K tried to do this to anybody on the team USA team except for Anthony Davis? Davis still has the college player awe of playing for him so he would just sit there and take it but anybody else? Coach K would be getting tossed in to the stands like a rag doll.

What was this coach trying pull here? So what your team played out of its mind in the first quarter and the US players were still mentally chasing Hope Solo around Olympic Village with a box full of condoms? That doesn’t mean your team ever had any chance.

You’re country barely has more people than the city of New York – you can’t compete, buddy. And do you think that any young, up and coming Tunisian studs are going to want to stick around and play for you if this is how you treat your players? This isn’t Indiana, Adel Tlatli.

An African Basketball Championship is a far cry from the NBA, boys. I’m all for the little guy having a fighting chance but if this USA team is going to lose it’s not going to be to the Tunisian National team.

Maybe Adel is just too comfortable in his role. He’s been the coach since 2001 and we have seen what happens to coaches who think they can’t be fired. Cover ups, sex scandals, points shaving, they are all parts of lack of insitituional control. Maybe Adel doesn’t have a bunch of skeletons in his closet, but he clearly has an anger problem.

More importantly than that, he has a problem being realistic. Don’t be mad that the US is better than you. Instead, be happy that you’re in the north of Africa so your players don’t have to learn the game like they did in that terrible Kevin Bacon movie.
