John Benjamin Toshack spoke to radio station 'La Xarxa' about compatriot Gareth Bale. The Wales coach had nothing but praise for the Real Madrid player: "I don’t want to go into the ins and outs of what he is worth but what I do know is that Bale is not very far from Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi’s level".
Toshack exonerated the former Tottenham player from responsibility over the huge sum agreed for his transfer saying: "The player is not to blame for the €100 million fee. If clubs and presidents have reached that point it's their fault".
