Andre Agassi wins Champions Cup

Andre Agassi beat Jim Courier 8-5 on Saturday night to win the Champions Cup at TD Garden. ''Beating Jim is never easy, and it never has been,'' Agassi said . ''I got off to a good start tonight, and that was the difference. Jim and I have been competing against one another our whole lives, so it was our pleasure to be here in front of these fans tonight. Winning is a nice surprise.'' Agassi advanced to the final with a 7-5 victory over Ivan Lendl. In the other semfinal, Courier beat Michael Chang 6-3.
