(February 7, 2013) Marin Cilic of Croatia is looking to claim his third title in his home event – the Zagreb Indoors. Cilic won the tournament in 2009 and 2010. The top seed moved into the quarterfinals on Thursday by defeating Grega Zemlja 6-3, 6-2.
“I am very pleased with the way I played,” said Cilic who fired 11 aces past his opponent.
Cilic will face another Slovenian in Blaz Kavcic next. He upset six seed Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus 3-6, 7-6 (2).
In another upset on the day, Robin Haase of the Netherlands topped fifth seed Martin Klizan of Slovakia 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
