Although Coco Gauff admitted to not having watched the Netflix documentary focused on ATP star Carlos Alcaraz, the top-ranked American stated she would like to model some of her life after his relaxed philosophy.

The World No.2 is through to another semifinal at Roland Garros, after overcoming compatriot Madison Keys in a three-set encounter on Court Philippe Chatrier on Wednesday. Breakout French tennis star Lois Boisson awaits Gauff in the semifinals, with the World No.361 surpassing even her wildest expectations as she defeated sixth seed Mirra Andreeva to reach her maiden Grand Slam semifinal.

Smiling more could be beneficial on and off the court, says Gauff

Netflix recently released a documentary that featured Alcaraz, as the Spaniard was followed by a camera crew to give fans a look at his life behind the scenes. The reigning French Open champion is known for his relaxed demeanor on court, and this was reflected in his life away from tennis as Alcaraz was rarely seen without a smile on his face.

Gauff acknowledged the importance of smiling more often, and revealed she had been trying to implement Alcaraz's carefree nature into her own life.

"It's something I do try to model off of him," said Gauff. "I have told him that I have tried to, like, have fun on the court like him and smile as much as he does, and that is something that he inspires me to do that more. Just enjoy the life in general, I find you play better.
"Yeah, for sure, I think he has a great philosophy, and it is something that I am trying to model. I don't think I'll be out there smiling as much as Carlos does, sometimes when he lose and wins a match, but every now and then to try to crack some in. I'm usually a more serious person on the court, but I try to remember that it's just a game and try to treat it like that."
