MIAMI - MARCH 23: Donald Young pauses at the baseline during his match against Carlos Berlocq of Argentina in the first round of the Nasdaq-100 Open at the Tennis Center at Crandon Park on March 23, 2006 in Miami, Florida. Berlocq won the match 6-0, 6-0. (Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty Images)
And that takes something if you're a pro tennis player... oung had a magical run through the US Open last year and showed some flash and hope for American tennis. But since then, he has gone 2-20 with his last win coming in Memphis in February. Young lost to Jesse Levine 6-4, 7-6 in the first round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati- giving up a 4-1 lead in the second set. He's now four straight losses shy of the ATP record held by Vince Spadea. From October 1999 to June 2000, he lost 21 in a row... Here's the match highlights, for those of you interested in such things... ((HT: ATP/youtube)) Young has dropped from 39th in the world to 80th... “I’m sure I can go down to Challengers and win some matches and points, but I want to do it here,” he said. He's planning to play in the next ATP stop, Winston-Salem, to get ready for the U.S. Open.
