Slumping Fish Needs Good Miami To Regain Momentum

The Mardy Fish of 2012 is quite different than the Mardy Fish of 2011. Now, the 2011 Fish was streaky and was far from being a paragon of consistency. Fish also had his fair share of early exits from tournaments in early 2011. But what separates the Fish of early 2011 from how Fish is playing now are his lack of bad losses and lack of poor play. Fish may not have been the most consistent...

At 6-foot-9, John Isner breathes rarified air on a daily basis, but the dizzying heights of being in the world's top 10 seemed to overwhelm the American in the third round of the Sony Ericsson. Isner lost 6-4, 6-2 to Florian Mayer, a German with an unorthodox game. From the moment Isner lost his serve at 4-all in the first set, he seemed to lose patience with the problem facing...

Fish impresses in victory over Almagro

These are exciting times for Mardy Fish. Still regarded as something of an unlikely American No. 1, Fish seems to be relishing the challenge of hanging on to his No. 8 world ranking and trying to help the United States win the Davis Cup. A big quarterfinal clash against France at the Monte Carlo Country Club is coming up next week, but, in the meantime, Fish is concentrating on...
