Julia Goerges and Dominika Cibulkova were among the seeded players to reach the second round of the Barcelona Open on Tuesday. The second-seeded Goerges beat French opponent Aravane Rezai 6-4, 6-0 on outdoor clay at the Vall d'Hebron Center. The third-seeded Cibulkova defeated Iryna Bremond of France 6-0, 6-3. Also, fifth-seeded Flavia Pennetta of Italy beat Lara Arruabarrena-Veci of Spain 6-0, 6-4. She will next face Yuliya Beygelzimer of Ukraine. Carla Suarez Navarro, Laura Pous-Tio, Estrella Cabeza Candela and Klara Zakopalova also advanced.
