When you have money to throw around like tennis star Novak Djokovic, you find interesting ways to spend it.
Novak decided to spend a sizable chunk of change to buy up the world's supply of donkey cheese...Yep....you heard right....donkey cheese.
The folks over at 5th Quarter magazine have the details:
The cheese is called pule and is expensive. One pound of this donkey
cheese is between $500-600. The cheese is produced in Serbia, which is
where Djokovic is from.
This partnership between the No. 1 tennis
player in the world and local cheese farmers that produce this cheese
presents a good local relationship.
The farmers could, if they want,
sell their cheese to the world and possibly sextuple their profits.
Some of you are probably asking, "Why would Novak buy up the rights to all that cheese?" It turns out that Novak is starting his own restaurant chain in Serbia and wanted to make sure that all that donkey cheese would be used exclusively at his restaurants or at least, for wholesale to retail.
