Caroline Wozniacki rallied from a set down to beat Lucie Hradecka of Czech Republic 3-6, 6-0, 7-5 Monday at the China Open. The top-ranked Dane struggled at the start against the big-serving Czech who notched nine aces to Wozniacki's two. But Wozniacki improved in the second set as Hradecka's first serves increasingly hit the net, saving eight out of 12 break points. ''It wasn't a pretty match, but I'm through and that's what's most important,'' said Wozniacki, who clinched her first place crown at Beijing last year. Women's third-seed Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic defeated Nadia Petrova of Russia, 6-3, 6-7 (3), 6-1, while Russian Maria Kirilenko bested Julia Goerfes of Germany, 7-6 (9), 6-3. Also, wild card Zheng Jie of China outlasted Alberta Brianti of Italy 4-6, 6-1, 7-5, while Maria Kirilenko of Russia defeated Germany's Julia Goerfes, 7-6 (9), 6-3, and qualifier Virginie Razzano of France downed Argentina's Gisela Dulko, 6-2, 6-3. Tamira Paszek of Austria beat Czech Petra Cetkovska, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round. In men's action, Marin Cilic of Croatia defeated Chinese wild card Di Wu 6-2, 6-0 and Feliciano Lopez of Spain beat Marsel Ilhan of Turkey 6-2, 7-6 (6). Fernando Verdasco of Spain downed Michael Llodra of France, 6-2, 6-4, while Germany's' Florian Mayer bested Spaniard Albert Ramos 6-2, 6-4. China's top-ranked player, this year's Wimbledon champion Li Na, made a shock exit from the tournament in first round play Sunday, losing 6-4, 6-0 first round by Romanian Monica Niculescu.
