Olympic hurdler Lolo Jones is going to try bobsleds.
For at least one day, anyway.
Jones is among a group of Olympic track athletes who were invited and are expected to compete in the U.S. women's bobsled push championships Friday.
Jones created a buzz earlier this week when she challenged former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand to a race on Twitter, saying afterward she did not know LeGrand had a serious spinal cord injury in 2010.
LeGrand said he did not take it personally.
Jones finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at the London Olympics in August amid criticism that she receives more attention and endorsements than her results warrant. Four years earlier in Beijing, the American came in as the favorite and was in position to win gold when she hit the ninth of 10 hurdles and wound up seventh

Lolo Jones came under scrutiny on Tuesday after responding to a Twitter challenge from paralyzed former football player Eric LeGrand with a few taunts.
LeGrand, who frequently tweets at other athletes, asked Jones if she wanted to race. Jones sent back a few taunting tweets before learning that LeGrand has been in a wheelchair since suffering a spinal cord injury in a 2010 Rutgers...
RUN LOLO RUN
Lolo Jones was challenged to a race by former football player Eric LeGrand and accepted without knowing that he was paralyzed.
I tend to enjoy looking at Lolo Jones and actually find her fairly humorous on Twitter. And while I believe this was an honest mistake, it doesn't make it look any better.
She has since deleted the tweet, but as you'll see she challenged Eric LeGrand to a $40k footrace. LeGrand is now a quadriplegic after suffering a devastating spinal injury while playing for Rutgers University...
Is Lolo Jones making the transition to Winter Olympics? Jones competed in the women’s US bobsled push championships. Joining Jones were fellow Olympic runners Hyleas Fountain and Tianna Madison. The women were invited by US bobsled coach Todd Hays in an effort to “share their Olympics experiences with our athletes and to help boost team morale.”
The woman’s two-man bobsled...
Has any athlete had a hard luck year quite like Lolo Jones? She didn't medal at the Olympics, she was savaged for having the nerve to be attractive and marketable, and then her own teammates threw her under the bus. Since the Olympics have come and gone, Lolo has been out of the spotlight, but she unwittingly stepped into another firestorm with one of the great Twitter...
Lolo Jones stuck her foot in her mouth via Twitter when Eric LeGrand challenged her to a race. Eric was tragically paralyzed during a game while playing for Rutgers, and Lolo obviously didn’t realize that. Fact remains, that talking smack on public forums isn’t the smartest thing in the world especially when you don’t realize who you are speaking to.

Lolo Jones rips quadriplegic LeGrand on Twitter.
An innocent tweet by former Rutgers defensive lineman Eric LeGrand at Olympic sprinter Lolo Jones has resulted in a Twitter backlash against Jones. LeGrand, who suffered a spinal injury in a game against Army on Oct. 16, 2010 which left him paralyzed from the neck down, frequently uses Twitter to engage with fans and other athletes. On Tuesday night he tweeted “@lolojones want...
Olympian Lolo Jones responded to Eric LeGrand's 'challenge to a race' on Twitter. Yes, Eric remains a quadriplegic so this will not be hitting PPV anytime soon. And, no, she's not 'getting murdered'...

When Eric LeGrand led the Rutgers Scarlet Knights onto the football field to take on West Virginia in October of 2011, a year after miraculously recovering from a devastating injury that left him paralyzed, it was one of the greatest moments in sports. When hurdler Lolo Jones tweeted insensitive comments towards LeGrand after he jokingly challenged her to a race on Tuesday night...
