The road to Wrestlemania begins tonight. Older/hardcore fans may be groaning at what seems to be a predicable card, new Mexican Hero Del Rio will beat the Big Show, The Rock will win the WWE title, and John Cena will win the Rumble match….but, anything can happen in wrestling and we may just be in store for some swerves! Pre-Show: US Champion Antonio Cesaro def. The Miz: The Champ started off strong, using his power against the Awesome One. A big tilt-and-whirl and an equally impressive back-breaker put the European star in the driver’s seat, but with the fans on his side The Miz battled back with his own offense. After missing a top rope move, The Miz seemed to hurt his leg, but he hobbled on regardless. Playing possum on the outside Cesaro led The Miz in to his trap, rolling him back in for a Neutralizing victory! Last Man Standing: World Champion Alberto Del Rio vs The Big Show: The Mexican hero went in to the bout with encouragement from Hall of Famer Bret Hart, who said Del Rio was like a Mexican Hitman and gave his vintage glasses to Ricardo Rodriquez. However the fun wouldn’t last long. Crushing each other under announce tables was only a sample of what was to come in this grueling match. Show was the first to get hardcore, going for a steel chair, but Del Rio dropkicked it out of his hand and delivered a series of stiff shots as “Si Si” bellowed throughout the arena. Show was unphased by the steel, and got an early Chokeslam on the champ, but it was not enough for a 10 count.
