The Mountain West Conference recently voted to allow Boise State to remain in the conference instead of bolting for the Big East Conference.Part of the reason, if not the biggest reason, was so that the MWC could have a conference championship game beginning next season.The conference now has twelve teams, that is two 6-team divisions, which by NCAA rules is the least amount you can have and still have a championship game.Of all the schools in the conference, San Diego State, Colorado State, Air Force, UNLV, Wyoming, New Mexico, Boise State, Fresno State, Nevada, Hawaii, Utah State, and San Diego State, only one (Boise State) has finished the season ranked high enough to at least be relevant.The conference, which was established in 1999, has never been relevant in college football, so now that they have a championship game, they think they will be?
