According to http://www.puroresuspirit.com and various other websites, Ring Of Honor world champion and IWGP junior heavyweight tag team champion Davey Richards has been in a car accident, and therefore won’t be competing at New Japan Pro Wrestling “40th Anniversary Dontaku 2012” tomorrow in Fukuoka. Richards and Romero have since been stripped of their tag belts, though a match for the vacant titles can’t be held as Richards still has his belt in America. Romero will instead team up with Gedo, in a match against their would-be title challengers, Jushin Liger and Tiger Mask IV.

Thoughts: I hope Davey’s injuries aren’t too serious, and I wish him a swift recovery. It’s tough to see any wrestler get hurt, but Davey is one of my favourites so I’m especially saddened.

Why did they strip No Remorse Corps of the belts if they aren’t going have a bout for the vacant titles? That’s puzzling.

Ring Of Honor world champion Davey Richards provided some updates on his injury via his Twitter account:

“Thanks everyone I’m ok. Nothing too serious besides a missed flight and some soreness! Yay for chiropractors boo to texting and driving!”

“To clarify: I wasn’t texting and driving the idiot who rear ended us was.”

“And nobody worry about Border Wars. I’ll be there, I’d walk through hell to get my hands on Steen.”

Thoughts: I’m pleased to hear Davey is ok, and that he won’t be missing Border Wars (the next Ring Of Honor IPPV). Thanks to my friend Arlene for sharing that on Facebook.
