Venis says WWE misrepresenting Gadsden flag: Former WWE star Val Venis who is a well known Libertarian, took to Twitter following Monday’s Raw in anger over the company’s use of the Gadsden “Don’t Tread On Me” flag in the Zeb Colter & Jack Swagger promo videos… “@WWE, as u know, I am totally a “Dont tread on me” guy who is for open and free borders. Get the Libertaian platform down instead of making fools of yourselves and fire the writer who equates the “Dont tread on me” flag with racism & closed borders! #*************** “Whoever the writer is in @WWE who decided to associate the “Do Not Tread On Me” flag with racism certainly did zero research and should be thoroughly embarrassed.” “Its frustrating as **** when libertarians are working their asses off at a grass roots level just to have a media power-house @WWE attempt to distort & demonize the liberty movement. I am sure it was not the WWE’s intention but that is the end result. I totally get the evil racists vs immigrant storyline but for **** sakes, at least reflect the realities in society(research necessary) instead of just throwing ******** together and harming a very real and meaningful grassroots movement. #tlot” Modern “Ron Paul” Libertarians are far removed from the stereotypical right wing patriot movement as well as the mainstream Conservative establishment. Stevie Richards, Kane, Matt Striker and Joey Styles are also well known for their Libertarian political views, and RVD & Xpac have made statements in that direction in the past. The Gadsden flag basically means don’t take away my rights, don’t mess with the constitution. Like a the snake who remains passive until he’s infringed or “trodden” on. ____________________________________________________________ Bruno Sammartino’s appearance schedule: 2013 Class WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino will not only appear at the Ceremony and the Wrestlemania PPV, but also the following night’s Raw from the IZOD Center. As previously reported he’s also agreed to a DVD set and will take part in some other WWE projects, such as the Legends Round Table shows. ____________________________________________________________ WWE sign Kendra Smith: WWE have signed stunt-woman and MMA trainer Kendra Smith to an NXT developmental deal. Smith also has a degree in acting from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, and already tried her hand at ring announcing. Speaking of the NXT Divas, Davina Rose is now going by the name Bayley. ____________________________________________________________ Warrior gives Vince props over Wrestlemania: In a rare move former wrestling star Ultimate Warrior praised Vince McMahon for making Wrestlemania such a success. “Make no doubt about it, WrestleMania is some kind of something, let’s just put it that way,” Warrior admitted in a video promoting his Legends of The Ring during Wrestlemania weekend. “[It's] incredible what Vince has done, his vision for sports entertainment. What the WWE continues to do year after year in making WrestleMania bigger, better, grander, bigger than any other event… it’s exciting, it’s fun.”
