Orton & Bryan fined over chair shots: WWE.com is reporting that Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton were fined for using unprotected chair-shots to the head on Monday’s RAW, which is against company policy. Triple H was quoted in the article saying… “We don’t allow chair shots to the head in WWE. We understand it was in the heat of the moment but we take this very seriously and as a result, [Orton and Bryan] were fined.” While no doubt this is being used to play-up the ongoing storyline, in terms of corporate policy head shots with chairs are legitimately banned. This is explained in the WWE & ImPACT Concussion Management Program under the section of “Prevention Programs & Initiatives”… - The WWE has eliminated using folding metal chairs to “strike” an opponent in the head. - The WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension the following: - The intentional use of a folding metal chair to “strike” an opponent in the head. - Any blow to the head that is deemed an INTENTIONAL act. - The Fine and/or Suspension will be directed by the EVP of Talent Relations. Of course it is also a possibility that the parties involved chose to break the rules and take the fine for the benefit of the angle. Similar incidents have occurred in the past where wrestlers have decided to bust each other open legitimately as a loophole to the ban on blading. Whether management is also in on these incidents is never going to be publicly acknowledged, but there’s no sign that Bryan and Orton will be de-pushed, which is all we need to know. Impact rating up slightly: This week’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling on Spike TV drew an average audience of 1,108,000 viewers, which is up slightly from the previous week’s number. TNA say Bully had medical emergency: Although it may just be an excuse TNA’s Jeremy Borash told the audience at the start of Thursday and Friday’s house shows that Bully Ray wasn’t there due to a medical emergency. The specifics of this are not known. Nikki Bella in wheelchair: A picture is circling on Twitter of Nikki Bella in a wheel chair. It’s not clear what her injury is, if she’s injured at all…
