A few weeks ago, Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter appeared to turn Face in a segment involving Rusev and Lana. They have been feuding over the last couple weeks with Colter and Swagger being portrayed as the heroes representing America, while Rusev and Lana are the heels representing Russia. Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter did not appear on last night’s episode of Monday Night Raw from Montreal in front of the live crowd, but a sidebar video of Colter aired during Rusev’s match to issue a challenge on behalf of Jack Swagger for a match at the Battleground pay-per-view. Despite some speculation that WWE chose to keep Swagger from appearing on camera to protect them from being booed by the Canadian crowd, it’s said that this may not have been a factor at all. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Swagger was likely not on Raw due to his previous legal troubles in the United States. As recent as January of this year, Swagger had to miss WWE events in Canada for the same reason. It’s possible that he still isn’t allowed into Canada and didn’t make the trip to Raw this week. Zeb Colter was reportedly backstage at last night’s Raw, but he did not appear in front of the live crowd. It’s said though that the reason the company opted to feature him in the sidebar video was to protect the “Real American” from being booed by the Canadian crowd. It remains unclear if Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter will remain babyface characters when their feud with Rusev and Lana is over. It would seem a bit awkward for Swagger and Colter to turn again so soon though, so it seems that for now, they will be faces. Jack Swagger has gotten the loudest reaction from the WWE Universe in the last couple weeks that he’s ever had, so they may be better suited to ride out this babyface run for as long as they could. What do you think about Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter being left off Raw? Let us know in the comments section below. Johnny Lugo is a writer for WrestlingNewsDepot.com of the UTN Network.
