The 'Last 40-home-run season by MLB team' quiz

The Philadelphia Phillies cruised to a National League East title in 2025, but after their first game in the MLB playoffs, they find themselves immediately under pressure with a 1-0 deficit to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.

After dropping Game 1 5-3 behind six innings from Shohei Ohtani and a three run home run from Teosacar Hernandez, the Phillies have the unenviable task of facing Blake Snell to avoid a dangerous 2-game hole in the best-of-five series.

If they’re going to even the series, they’ll likely need a better performance from their best hitter, Kyle Schwarber. The veteran and 2016 World Series champion struck out three times in four at-bats in Game 1 after hitting .240 with 56 home runs and 132 RBIs in the regular season.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. 2025 was the third time in Schwarber’s 11-year career that he’s eclipsed 40 home runs. With that being said, can you name the last 40-home-run hitter for each MLB team?

Good luck!
