Anthony Joshua believes he ended Jake Paul’s fighting career

Last year, on Dec. 19, 2025, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, British boxer Anthony Joshua defeated celebrity boxer Jake Paul in a dominant victory. Despite Paul displaying a fair fight in the first few rounds, the tide soon turned against him. Unable to match the weight difference, Paul soon lost energy and became tired, before Joshua started dominating and snatched away the victory in the sixth round.

Despite no prior experience in boxing, both Jake and Logan Paul began their careers in boxing with fights against several celebrities. Despite losing to Tommy Fury, Jake Paul would secure six successive fights, even one against Mike Tyson. Yet, his reign at the top was short-lived, as Joshua emerged victorious.

During their boxing match, “AJ” landed 48 of his 146 punches, while Paul landed just 16 of his 56 shots. The final and winning punch of the match was so hard that it even broke Paul’s jaw and indefinitely suspended him from further boxing. He has now undergone two surgeries and is preparing for his comeback. Although Joshua believes he has ended Paul’s fighting career.

When questioned about Paul’s boxing future, Joshua reacted with a cold and calm response. “That’s what was asked of me when I took the fight and I think I delivered it,” Joshua said with a smile on his face.

A few weeks ago, while speaking to Ariel Helwani, Jake Paul also opened up about his boxing future. “I’m getting some new scans in a couple of days on the jaw to get an update on the healing process,” Paul said. “We’ll see what my doctors say and if I can even fight again. That is definitely within the realm of possibility. It does feel a lot better as the weeks and time go by. I think it just depends on how the bone heals. There’s also a tooth missing here, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to get some sort of implant. We just have to wait and figure out what the smartest thing is for me.”
