Azim Adam And George Kambosos: Who Is Going To Blink First?
James Chance/Getty Images

Azim (13-0, 10 KOs) is ranked #8 by WBA as well as #12 by WBC. He remains an undefeated athlete.

However, he has not encountered any world-level challenger during his five-year professional career. Therefore, for him to call out the former unified lightweight titlist Kambosos (22-4, 10 KOs), he mostly feels right in doing so.

“@GeorgeKambosos let’s get it on - Sept 25,” posted Azim on his social media platform.

Azim has continued to gain traction in the United Kingdom, reinforcing himself as one of the brightest icons at 140lbs in the process. The 23-year-old athlete is just off his biggest victory, a ninth-round stoppage win over former title-holder Sergey Lipinets.

Nonetheless, Kombosos has downplayed the call, instead referring to Azim as a young pup. Kambosos, who took on Hitchins on Saturday night in a desire to become a two-division world champion, lost to the dominant Hitchins.

"All the best young pup, don't worry about me, I've been multiple times where you dream of getting too, I'm off to go spend all my millions, but here's a tip maybe call out guys like Teo, Haney, Hitchins, the current champions at 140, like I did, don't worry about your 0, young fella take the risk, there's another guy that's managed by my father, Artur Biyarslanov 19-0, top 10 in the world aswell, rumour has it you turned him down already. A bit worried about the Chechen? Take the risks, brother, trust me, it will help you in the future, even if you lose that 0, you’re young. Artur vs Adam, why not?” posted Kambosos on X.
