Rebounding from his first career loss with an impressive eight fight winning run, Chris Eubank Jr. planted a rather sizable feather in his cap in one particular win.
Fresh from his IBO super middleweight title victory, veteran British star Chris Eubank Jr. had just stopped Renold Quinlan with an impressive tenth round knockout win.
After being forced the distance against Arthur Abraham in his first defense of the super middleweight crown, Eubank would enter the World Boxing Super Series tournament, drawing a foe who would later fight Canelo Alvarez.
Going on better than the decorated Mexican megastar, to boot, Eubank Jr. would force a blistering stoppage quicker than Canelo with an impressive win.
Drawing the unbeaten Avni Yildirim in a trip to Germany, Eubank Jr. would once more put his IBO championship crown at the super middleweight limit up for grabs.
And tasked with handing Yildirim his first career loss following a bright 16-0 start to his career, Eubank Jr. needed just three rounds to defeat the Turkish star.
Unloading a lengthy barrage of hooks during the opening two minutes of the frame, Eubank Jr. staggered Yildirim, who was pressing forward, before unleashing a massive hook for an instant knockout win — forcing the referee to forgo starting a count.

Years later, Canelo would face off with Yildirim in defense of his WBA, WBC, and The Ring super middleweight crowns, where he would need all three rounds to force a corner stoppage win over the Turk challenger.
Yet to book his return to the ring after his super middleweight title loss to Terence Crawford, Canelo has been linked to a laundry list of potential comeback opponents.
Expected to remain sidelined beyond a targeted comeback date amid a new update on elbow surgery, Canelo may not compete as soon as expected.
And having never stepped foot on British soil to compete, the Mexican icon has been tied to a blockbuster Wembley Stadium debut in his comeback to boxing.
