Devin Haney Sends Warning to Conor Benn After Victory Over Regis Prograis

Conor Benn’s return came with plenty of attention, but not all of it landed the way many expected. Fighting on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs. Arslanbek Makhmudov, Benn stepped in with a tough, durable opponent and handled business over the course of a solid fight. Benn earned a unanimous decision victory—but it was a solid showing rather than the emphatic statement many anticipated.

Conor Benn faced Regis Prograis, a natural 140-pounder who moved up to 150 for the fight. Despite the size difference, Prograis stayed competitive throughout, raising questions about how Benn will perform against full-fledged 147-pound opponents.

That performance quickly drew a reaction from Devin Haney, a former Prograis opponent who didn’t hold back on social media. Haney posted a blunt message on X shortly after the fight: ‘Stay away.’ The warning was short but pointed, signaling skepticism about Benn’s place among the elite at 147 pounds.

Still, Benn appears locked in on what comes next. In a clip shared by The Ring Magazine, he made his intentions clear immediately after the win. "Great fight, tough, durable, experience. Had to weather some storms, but we’re good," Benn said. "Thank God, praise God, praise God for the victory."

He didn’t stop there. Benn shifted focus to the future—and specifically to Ryan Garcia and the welterweight division. "First fight back at 150, three years. Now I’m ready to move down to 147 and get Ryan Garcia," he added. Then came the message that stood out: "Garcia, I want my belt. I want my belt."

Whether that fight materializes remains to be seen, but between Haney’s warning and Benn’s callout, the path forward at 147 is already starting to take shape.
