Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn held their final presser ahead of their November 15 fight, as they were ready for battle.

Eubank Jr. won the first fight in April, winning a unanimous decision to give Benn the first loss of his career. However, the victory came at a cost as he was taken to hospital with extreme dehydration. Eubank had to endure a tough 160-pound weight cut, which he missed and was fined for, while also having to abide by a ten-pound rehydration clause. The same stipulations apply this time, but he has teamed up with Terence Crawford’s trainer, Brian McIntyre.

Benn, meanwhile, knows he cannot afford to come out with another loss. He has spoken about his desire to move back down to welterweight, with the aim of securing a world title shot. A win over Eubank boosts his chances of doing that, thus enticing the welterweights to come box him in England. Here were the key moments from the presser.

Presser

“I’m not here to talk about my feelings or my emotions. I’m here to talk about things that are bothering me and that I think I should shine a light on as I always do at these press conferences. Who won the fight, Conor? If you take a man’s soul, that usually means you won the fight. I’ve never seen someone’s soul get taken and they still win. The truth is we both ended up in hospital and I was there for dehydration and you were there for the punishment you took,” Eubank said

“I do [think that I ‘took’ Chris Eubank’s soul in the first fight]. In fact, he was in hospital for three days. I was back in the gym. He threw double the amount of punches. I was back in the gym on the Sunday. For me, the most damage was done in the fight. I believe I inflicted a lot more pain. His work rate was incredible. His resilience, his strength, his spirit, his athleticism, his experience, he used really well. Took me by surprise and he’s a better fighter than I thought he was first off. But I’m ready to take what’s left [of his soul] come Saturday,” Benn stated
