Filip Hrgovic finished a fighter who gave Deontay Wilder one of his toughest tests.
On Saturday night, the Croatian will return to action against David Adeleye, inside the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After defeating Joe Joyce in his last outing, Hrgovic is hoping for another big performance.
Ideally, he’d like a finish akin to the one he landed against a man who troubled ‘The Bronze Bomber’.
Terrifying: Deontay Wilder tells crazy story of coming face to face with sharks… ‘Never panic’
While Deontay Wilder knocked out Dominic Breazeale in round one of their WBC heavyweight world title fight, there have been a plethora of boxers who’ve managed to drag the Alabama brawler out of the opening segment.
In a tough night at the office, Wilder was badly rocked by Eric Molina before bouncing back to finish the bout in the ninth.
However, while Wilder struggled with ‘Drummer Boy’, Filip Hrgovic had no such problem.
On December 7, 2019, ‘El Animal’ dominated his rival, hitting him with spiteful shots from the first bell.
In the second, Hrgovic scored the first knockdown of the bout with a body shot.
Molina managed to beat the count, but when a crushing right hand landed in the third, he failed to make it back to his feet before ten.
Their performances against Molina aren’t the only thing Hrgovic has the bragging rights over Deontay Wilder for.
Many years ago, the pair went head-to-head inside the gym.
Showcasing his skills, Hrgovic landed huge shots on Wilder in sparring.
