Former two-division world champion Oscar Valdez heads to Mexico for his latest fight as he looks to get back into title contention at super featherweight.
Valdez (32-3, 24 KOs) will face Ricky Medina (16-3, 9 KOs) as the main event on a fight card that will stream on ESPN Deportes in the States. It’s been nine months since Valdez was stopped in the sixth round of his rematch with WBO champion Emanuel Navarrete. As Top Rank continues to look for media rights partner, they are allowing its fighters to take matchups with other promoters until they figure things out. Although Valdez is a heavy betting favorite, it’ll be interesting to see what he has left after all of those brutal fights he’s been through during his career.
Per BetMGM, Oscar Valdez is the favorite at -1200, and Ricky Medina is the underdog at +700.
These timings could change due to the length of the undercard fights.
