Rolly Romero defends his WBA welterweight title against Teofimo Lopez on August 22 in Las Vegas, headlining a weekend that also features Amanda Serrano's featherweight title defense on TikTok and George Liddard's European middleweight title fight in London.
Romero captured the welterweight strap after beating Ryan Garcia by decision in May 2025 at Madison Square Garden. Lopez moves up from lightweight following a January loss to Shakur Stevenson. The matchup marks Lopez's first bout at 147 pounds, per Bad Left Hook.
The fight could produce fireworks if both men engage, given Lopez's aggressive tendencies and Romero's power. Bad Left Hook noted a potential concern, though, pointing out that both fighters "have brought yawns in recent outings" and their friendship might dampen the action. The card airs on Amazon Prime PPV and DAZN PPV at $79.99, with Victor Santillan defending his interim WBA super bantamweight title against Gary Antonio Russell in chief support.
Serrano fights Lucrecia Manzur on Friday night in Temecula, California, defending her WBO and WBA featherweight belts. Most Valuable Promotions streams the card live on TikTok starting at 9:00 pm ET, a first for the platform. The undercard includes Jahmal Harvey and Avious Griffin against Jackson Marinez.
Liddard challenges Italy's Dario Morello for the vacant European middleweight title in Hackney Wick on Saturday afternoon. Morello brings a 26-1 record into his first fight outside Italy as a professional. The British and Commonwealth middleweight titles appear to be vacated, with Jimmy Sains now fighting for the Commonwealth strap on the undercard. DAZN carries the card at 2:00 pm ET.
