Teofimo Lopez claimed the WBA welterweight title from Rolando Romero via a majority decision (114-114, 115-113, 116-112), adding a third weight class to his résumé.

Speed and output carried Lopez through a fight in which he wasn't at his sharpest, but still did enough to justify the cards. Romero, who has flashed real power against the likes of Ryan Garcia, rarely let his hands go and offered little urgency down the stretch, particularly in round 12 — a passive finish that ultimately cost him the fight.
