It’s been an interesting start to the season for Minnesota Basketball. Through eight games the Gophers have already experienced everything from finishing a game 5-on-3, to playing in front of the most electric crowd at Williams Arena in years. The Gophers are sitting at 7-1 thus far, including two quality non-conference wins over Providence and Alabama. The non-conference games have been entertaining, but now its time to get down to business. The Gophers open Big Ten play at home tonight against Rutgers. Let’s look at some of the keys to navigating a grueling Big Ten schedule. Managing Expectations The Gophers have done a great job of this so far. Beating Providence on the road, and playing 27 solid minutes against a ranked Alabama team were each indicators this team can handle the lofty preseason expectations that were placed on it.
