Arkansas' Painful First Post After Texas Tech Game

John Calipari and the Arkansas Razorback's incredible run in the 2025 NCAA Tournament has come to an end, with the team bowing to the Texas Tech Red Raiders in their Sweet 16 clash on Thursday night.

The Razorbacks were actually up by seven at halftime against the Red Raiders, 38-31. However, a strong 41-34 second half allowed Texas Tech to tie the game and force overtime.

Arkansas led by as many as 16 points in the second half, but they went on a scoreless run for three minutes midway through the period and allowed Texas Tech to cut its lead to single digits.

In overtime, a late layup from Darrion Williams when the score was tied at 83-all pushed Texas Tech to the brilliant come-from-behind 85-83 victory.

JT Toppin, Christian Anderson and Williams led the way for the Red Raiders, with the three scoring at least 20 points and combining for a total of 62 points. Meanwhile, Johnell Davis (30 points) and Karter Knox (20 points) both had big performances for the Razorbacks in a losing effort.

Right after the loss, Arkansas' social media team posted the final score for the Sweet 16 showdown, along with a rather painful four-word message.

"Our dance is done," the team wrote.

Sure enough, it's not the result that John Calipari and Arkansas wanted. However, no one can deny that they had quite the run in the NCAA Tournament. Few expected them to make it all the way to the Sweet 16, but they defied the odds.

In the first round, they pulled off a shocker against the No. 7 seed Kansas Jayhawks. Then in the Round of 32, the Razorbacks stunned Rick Pitino's No. 2 seed St. John's Red Storm.

With Calipari guiding them, the future remains bright for Arkansas amid the disappointment of its NCAA Tournament exit.
