In an effort to combat the cramps, he had consumed a significant amount of Gatorade quickly, which ultimately led to the vomiting episode. Scheyer emphasized that this incident highlighted Maluach’s determination to contribute to the team, as he was pushing himself to return to the game despite the discomfort.

After receiving medical attention, Maluach was able to regain his composure and walked off the court under his own power. He finished the game with four points and eight rebounds, playing a crucial role in the Blue Devils’ 74-64 victory over NC State. The Blue Devils managed to overcome a halftime deficit, showcasing their resilience and teamwork.
