Five-Star Recruit Sends Strong Message After Commitment to Duke

Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils had a phenomenal season led by Cooper Flagg and company.

Flagg and fellow freshmen Kon Knueppel and Khaman Maluach helped lead Duke to a 35-4 record, winning the ACC Tournament and entering the NCAA Tournament as a No. 1 seed.

It's up to Scheyer to replace the immense production that entered the NBA draft.

After a stellar season, all three freshmen and several other key contributors, such as Sion James and Tyrese Proctor, declared for the draft.

On Thursday, Duke received a massive boost to help fill Flagg and company's shoes. According to Jonathan Givony, the Blue Devils have received a commitment from Italian wing prospect Dame Sarr.

Sarr chose to play for Jon Scheyer and the Duke Blue Devils over Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks.

Upon announcing his commitment to play for the Duke Blue Devils, Dame Sarr took to social media, sharing his thoughts on the move.

"Power move only," Sarr said. "Just made the coldest one yet."

Sarr shared the post with over 39.2K followers.

Sarr committed to Duke as a five-star prospect. Per 247Sports, he is ranked as one of the most highly touted recruits yet to commit to a program.

Before choosing to play for Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils, Sarr competed in the professional landscape, playing at FC Barcelona

The 18-year-old will now join one of the best incoming classes in the nation, headlined by Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer, both blue-chip recruits.
