UC and Wes Miller made the latest cut list for a 2026 five-star talent. Local guard Taylan Kinney, formerly of Newport (Kentucky) and now Overtime Elite, has Cincinnati in his top 15 schools.

According to 247Sports, the 6-1, 185-pound talent is ranked 17th nationally and fourth among point guards.

UC made the 11-team cut list with Purdue, Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas, Kansas, Oregon, Texas, Xavier, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He previously updated his list in Dec. 2024.

He has bounce for days and fits the ideal mold of a downhill guard in Miller's offense. He has a nice feel for sweet spots on the floor and can get his jump shot off in a hurry off the dribble. Kinney could be an instant impact, All-Big 12 caliber player in his first season at this level.

Kinney's grown both physically and as a player over the last few seasons, which could continue enough to make him a top-15 player amidst a slight rise in recent months.
