Pitt Hoops Beats Georgetown in Preseason Scrimmage

The scrimmage took place at a neutral site on Saturday afternoon.

PSN has obtained some statistics from the matchup. Leggett: 20 points, five rebounds, five assists. Carrington: 16 points, three rebounds, five assists. Hinson: 13 points, seven assists. Federiko: eight points, six rebounds, and two blocks. Austin: eight points, two blocks. Lowe: 7 points. The Panthers hit ten three pointers and shot 50% from the field.

Pitt is now 3-0 in scrimmages this year after going 2-0 on its August foreign tour to Spain and the Canary Islands.

The Hoyas are led by Ed Cooley, who spent the past 12 seasons with Providence. Cooley took over the Hoyas job in March, and brought in an impressive transfer class. Georgetown had previously beaten Wake Forest in a scrimmage.

This year, Pitt returns leading scorer Blake Hinson as well as junior Federiko Federiko, the Diaz-Graham twins and Will Jeffress, who is returning from a foot injury.

The Panthers also brought in transfers Ishmael Leggett, Zack Austin, and Mike Hueitt Jr. this offseason, in addition to freshmen Carlton Carrington, Jaland Lowe, Marlon Barnes, and Papa Amadou Kante (Out for Season).
