Five-star point guard Kate Harpring committed to North Carolina's 2026 recruiting class on Saturday.
She is ranked No. 2 nationally, No. 1 at her position and No. 1 in the state of Georgia by the 247Sports composite.
The 5-foot-10 Harpring chose the Tar Heels after also taking official visits to UCLA, Iowa and Vanderbilt.
"I'm so excited to be committing to North Carolina after an incredibly difficult decision process," she told ESPN. "Coach (Courtney) Banghart's confidence in me has me ready to join the UNC family."
Harpring, who stars at the Marist School in Atlanta, helped the United States win a gold medal at the FIBA U19 World Cup last month in Switzerland.
Harpring's father, Matt, played 11 seasons in the NBA with four teams from 1998-2009.
