Former Iowa Star Gabbie Marshall Upset About New Caitlin Clark Announcement
Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Caitlin Clark's ascent from Iowa standout to WNBA sensation has been incredible. Beyond her on-court skills, Clark's marketability has surged as well.

A new limited-edition Cool Blue Gatorade bottle bearing Clark's name hit Hy-Vee shelves on April 21, 2025.

Hy-Vee's Instagram unveiled the product with a photo of Clark sipping the icy blue drink, captioned, "It’s too cool to miss. Grab @caitlinclark22‘s limited‑edition Cool Blue @gatorade bottle exclusively at Hy‑Vee. Shop for a limited time at our link in bio."

The post immediately drew hundreds of likes, and one pointed reaction from former Iowa Hawkeye teammate, Gabbie Marshall, who commented, "Nooo there's no Hyvee in North Carolina I want one!!!!!!"

Marshall, Clark's teammate at Iowa from 2019 to 2024, won state titles in 2017 and 2019 in Ohio and earned three all-state selections.

At Iowa, she evolved into a key two-way guard, averaging 6.6 points, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game, shooting 40.6% from the field and 39.2% from three-point range over her five-year career with the Hawkeyes.

Marshall opted to retire from competitive basketball following her fifth year, choosing graduate studies over a professional career.

Clark finished her collegiate career as the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer, tallying 3,951 career points, and became the first Division I player (men's or women's) to amass at least 3,600 points, 1,000 assists, and 850 rebounds.

She also led the nation in scoring three times (2021, 2022, 2024) and in assists three straight years (2022-2024), setting Big Ten career marks in three-pointers and assists along the way.

In February 2025, Iowa retired her No. 22 jersey, celebrating her historic college career.
