Paige Bueckers is a winner, both on the court, off it and in the classroom. That much is clear after she led the UConn Huskies to the NCAA Tournament title on Sunday.
UConn beat the South Carolina Gamecocks 82-59 to secure the national championship, giving Bueckers her first title with the program.
The 23-year-old guard finished the game with 17 points and six rebounds, helping the Huskies dominate from start to finish. In the process, she also made history by recording the most points by a UConn women's basketball player in the NCAA Tournament.
Following her amazing run in the NCAA Tournament, it's also worth mentioning that Bueckers isn't only a phenomenal player on the court. She was also a terrific student, as proven by her college Grade Point Average (GPA).
Bueckers graduated last May but decided to return for another season, taking advantage of her extra year of eligibility after redshirting the 2022-23 season due to an ACL injury.
At the time, it was revealed that Bueckers had a 3.497 cumulative GPA. In fact, during the fall semester of the 2023-24 season, she reportedly posted a 3.9 GPA. This allowed her to earn honors such as the 2023-2024 College Sports Communicators First Team Academic All-American and the 2024 Big East WBB Scholar-Athlete of the Year, per Marca.
