Paige Bueckers is all set to take on the WNBA in style. The UConn Huskies star will sport the Dallas Wings jersey as she embarks on her rookie year. Bueckers’ success never came with ease as she experienced several hurdles, injuries being one among them.
In a recent interview, the future WNBA star touched upon how she handled her injuries. Bueckers discussed her injuries with Robin Roberts on the “Good Morning America” show, where she shared a few insights. Bueckers was clear about one thing: growing in her faith and leaning towards God’s purpose.
“I grew in my faith,” Bueckers said. “I leaned in my faith and God’s purpose for me and just giving up my own understanding and switched my framing from a ‘why me?’ to ‘why not me?” Paige Bueckers said.
“Like, why can I not overcome this? Why can I not come back and be better and to inspire the next generation, anybody who went through injuries or something devasting, that it doesn’t have to break you. It can make you and mold you to be a better person, a better player or whatever you do,” Bueckers continued.
Not many have a strong mindset like the former Huskies star. Bueckers’ journey was full of resilience and hard-fought battles. Yet, not many are aware of her struggles.
“Everybody who’s spent so much time helping me get back to form, you just want to reward their hard work, so all of that combined,” Bueckers said.
Paige Bueckers will not only play in the WNBA but also in the Unrivaled League. Moreover, she’s paving her path to being a successful businesswoman. Bueckers mentioned that investing in women’s sports has been a great experience.
“I mean, investments in women’s sports — I feel like the return on investment has been amazing,” Bueckers said. “Even the first year (of Unrivaled), the numbers were shocking. They just blew it out of the water. And just to invest so much in women’s sports, it’s growing at an all-time high, and it’s just a great time to be in women’s sports,” Paige Bueckers said.
Bueckers is one of the recent but high-profile investors in the Unrivaled League. Dallas Wings fans are hyped about Bueckers coming to the WNBA. Bueckers is set to have a strong run with the Wings in her rookie year.
