The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports on all of the top prospects at every position in this year's class.
Here's everything you need to know about Georgia quarterback Carson Beck heading into the 2025 draft:
Height: 6-4
Weight: 220
Age: 23
The prototypical pocket passer, Beck has the ideal frame for a traditional NFL starter, with the ability to see everything at all levels of the field and read defenses both before and after the snap. He’s most comfortable on rhythm and timing throws where he can hit his back foot and immediately deliver the ball where he wants it to go, and he’s not afraid to attack downfield between the numbers. Beck has enough athleticism to pick up helpful yardage with his legs when available, and he’s shown the ability to digest defensive schemes on the fly when given a clean pocket and time to operate.
Beck lacks top-level arm strength, both when trying to stretch the field with the deep ball or when delivering cross-field throws to the opposite hash. His accuracy and decision-making have also been spotty, leading to missed opportunities for big plays and too many turnovers. Those two aspects, along with his mechanics, appear to take the biggest hit when he’s trying to make throws on the run. He struggles to be the same efficient passer with a messy pocket as he is when the action is calm around him.

There are some physical tools to work with here, but Beck will struggle to find success at the next level unless he makes some huge strides when it comes to his decision-making, accuracy and consistency. He’s got to get more comfortable working with a muddy pocket, improve his overall game when forced to work on the move, and develop the areas of his game that are teachable in order to make up for his lack of elite arm talent and athletic ability.
