The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports on all of the top prospects at every position in this year's class.
Here's everything you need to know about North Carolina running back Omarion Hampton heading into the 2025 draft:
Height: 6-0
Weight: 220
Age: 21
Another dynamic back with a three-down skill set, Hampton loves contact and is at his best when he’s able to build up a head of steam and come downhill out of the backfield. He’s got ideal size and a well-built frame for a featured back, as well as the complete skill set to make big plays as both a runner and a receiver. He’s explosive in the open field, with the ability to turn short runs into big ones, and can create chunk plays when the ball finds him in space as a pass-catcher. Always falling forward after contact, Hampton is a load to bring down when he’s moving at full speed.
Hampton’s affinity for contact can backfire at times, as he can seek out opposing defenders instead of working laterally to make them miss in the hole. His vision and patience are inconsistent at times, and he can run a bit out of control, missing open gaps at the line of scrimmage, or coming downhill too fast before his blocks have a chance to develop. His contact balance could also use some improvement, as he tends to lose some extra yardage by not being able to stay upright through the tackle attempt.

A highly productive back for the Tar Heels, Hampton racked up more than 1,500 yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground in each of the past two seasons, and added quality production as a receiver in both campaigns. He needs some refinement in certain areas, but all the physical traits are there for Hampton to become a productive three-down playmaker if he lands with the right coaching staff.
